Get your Vitamin Sea

There are just a few days to go until islanders take to the sea for the first of their 30 Bays in 30 Days swims.

30 Bays in 30 Days is now firmly established in the island’s calendar, raising money for The National Trust for Jersey and Jersey Hospice Care.

The first group swim takes place at St Brelade’s Bay at 09:30 on Sunday 30 June. Everyone is welcome to come down to the beach, register, pick up their new swimming hats, wristbands and meet their fellow swimmers. Safety cover is generously being provided by the RNLI Lifeguards, in conjunction with Le Mourier Swim/Sea/Save.

Emelita Robbins, Chief Executive at Jersey Hospice Care, said ‘This is a brilliant island event. Swimmers are motivated to enjoy our wonderful coastline, often exploring bays that they haven’t been to for years. Many people tell us what a pleasure it has been rediscovering sea swimming, often in groups with family and friends. Life is about making memories and as a regular sea swimmer myself, this is definitely one of my favourite fundraisers.’

Charles Alluto, Chief Executive of the National Trust for Jersey, said ‘We hope as many people as possible will take part and enjoy the 30 Bays in 30 Days challenge. Please do not be put off if you think that you cannot complete the challenge in July, we encourage you to continue in August or just swim in your favourite bay as many times as you can’.

For more information and to register, head to the event website.  Swimmers can also register at the opening swim and throughout the month of July.

The event is generously supported by Network Insurance & Financial Planning, The Potting Shed, Fuse 2 and Mitchell Building Contractors.
