Support for Children and Young people

We work with children and young people to help them develop skills to cope with the overwhelming feelings of loss and grief. We can support them in their understanding that emotions are normal, and to have the confidence to ask for help when they are struggling. The sessions allow space to process thoughts and feelings through age appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, at their level of understanding.

These confidential sessions are pre-booked, at a mutually convenient time, in our private counselling rooms, and last no longer than an hour.

We are working with Kairos Arts to provide therapeutic art workshops for children and young people to help them explore their feelings around grief and loss. Therapeutic art offers a child or teenager the opportunity to explore feelings using different art mediums in a safe space. A non-verbal way of expressing and processing emotions can be helpful for children and young people who may not have the words, or be able to articulate what they are going through.
