Care at Hospice
We provide round the clock care on our In Patient Unit, where you can be looked after in a home away from home environment.
We take our obligations under data protection legislation very seriously and have robust controls in place to ensure safeguarding of your personal information. Jersey Hospice Care is the Controller in respect of your personal information, and is represented by the Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted by email. The information you provide in the application form will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018. We will keep the application form for as long as required by relevant legislation and it will not be shared with anyone outside of Jersey Hospice Care. The postholder will assist the Head Chef with all aspects relating to the efficient and effective catering operation at Jersey Hospice Care, to support the best primary care possible.
The postholder will develop and deliver food offerings, which provide a range of wholesome food that meets the patient’s needs, with special attention for highly vulnerable patients’ dietary requirements.
The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 Food Production & Cooking or hold another relevant catering qualification, and a current Food Hygiene Certification (minimum Level 2).

Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Shop Manager (East) to join our Retail Team on a full-time permanent basis, working 5 days in 7 (including weekends and Public and Bank Holidays), Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.
The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Jersey Hospice Care’s East charity shop, for maintaining a high level of customer service and maximising revenue.
The postholder will work collaboratively with the Head of Retail, and other members of the Retail Management Team, and provide cover and support in other retail locations as required. They will build good team spirit by effectively communicating with the Head of Retail, colleagues and volunteers. They will lead, manage, develop, and train colleagues and volunteers, ensuring their understanding of their roles and responsibilities and the importance of delivering excellent customer service.

Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Retail Assistant (East) to join our Retail Department on a permanent, full-time or part-time basis.
The postholder will work with colleagues and volunteers to assist with the operation of Jersey Hospice Care’s retail fundraising shops. The post holder is required to greet customers, respond to customer queries, and assist shoppers in purchasing goods.
Other duties include receiving donations, replenishment of stock and maintaining the shop floor in line with shop standards. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of other retail activities as assigned by the Line Manager.
The post holder will be primarily based at Holme Grown, Jersey Hospice Care Retail Shop although they may also be required to work at Beau Pre, St Ouen or the Town Shop, when required.

Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Shop Coordinator (East) to join our Retail Department on a permanent, full-time basis.
The postholder will be based at the Hospice Shop (East) and will work with colleagues and volunteers to support the management team in the day to day running of Jersey Hospice Care’s retail fundraising shops, achieve sales objectives, deliver exceptional customer service and will act as an ambassador for Jersey Hospice Care.
The post holder will support the Retail Team in increasing growth and revenue through sales maximisation.

Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Compassionate Neighbour Coordinator to join our Volunteer Department on a permanent, part time basis.
The Compassionate Neighbours Coordinator will assist the Volunteers’ Manager in the recruitment, training, supervision, and development of the Compassionate Neighbours volunteers. They will help to encourage referrals to the service from other health and social care providers, from across the hospice and the wider local community. They will carry out assessment visits in vulnerable people’s homes, this will include meeting people living with a terminal illness who maybe feeling lonely and isolated.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing teams and be a skilled administrator. They will be a confident communicator, skilled in the preparation and delivery of presentations.

Jersey Hospice Care is looking for Bank Chefs to join the Kitchen Team on zero-hours contracts.
The postholder will assist the Head Chef and Chefs with all aspects relating to the efficient and effective catering operation at Jersey Hospice Care. They will also develop and deliver a food offering by providing a range of wholesome food that meet the patient needs, with special attention for highly vulnerable patients’ dietary requirements.
The ideal candidates will hold an NVQ 2 in food production and cooking or relevant catering qualifications, a current food hygiene certification minimum level 2 and have significant experience as a Chef or Sous chef.
