Jersey Hospice Care is pleased to announce the launch of its new eBay shop, marking the charity’s first step into online retail as part of a broader strategy to grow income and reach new supporters.
The move online represents an exciting development for our retail operations, enabling us to connect with a wider audience beyond the Island and explore innovative ways to generate vital funds that support our services.
The eBay shop features a wide range of items, such as clothes, accessories, books and music, specially selected from the generous donations we get into our shops on Island. This move brings us in line with many national UK charities such as British Red Cross and Oxfam –who have successfully been operating eBay shops for many years.
Marcus Meadows, Head of Retail at Jersey Hospice Care, said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to increase our reach and explore new and innovative ways to grow revenue from our shops. We’re seeing collectibles perform particularly well, so we would encourage anyone with unusual or interesting items to consider donating them – you never know what hidden gems could help raise vital funds for our Hospice care.”
Funds raised through the eBay shop will go directly towards supporting our work, providing specialist palliative care and support to patients and their loved ones across the Island.
Donations can be made at any of The Hospice Shops, where colleagues or volunteers will be happy to advise on items that may be suitable for online sale.
