Dr Natalie Kemp

Clinical Lead for Children and Young People

When did you start at Jersey Hospice Care?
August 2017

How do you make a difference at Jersey Hospice Care?
I’m a paediatric doctor and the Clinical Lead for Children and Young People. I’m working on the strategy for the extension of our services to children and young people. We are going to deliver a multidisciplinary, holistic approach to the care of children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Jersey. We are working alongside other service providers as we develop our services.

What did you do before you worked here?
I was a Paediatric Staff Grade doctor at Jersey General Hospital and before that I lived in Australia.

What are your plans for the next six months?
I’ll be launching our out-reach services in the community, as well as continuing the wider extension of our services. I’m  also studying for my Masters in Palliative Care at King’s College London.

What do you enjoy most about your job and working for Jersey Hospice Care?
I am passionate about paediatric palliative care and am committed to the life-long learning a medical career demands. Working at Jersey Hospice Care enables me to pursue this passion for the benefit of the children and young people in Jersey.

What you enjoy doing in your free time?
Being fully present in the time I spend with my family. I love to swim, run and cycle – really I’m a wannabe triathlete! And of course studying!
