‘Tour de Jersey’ returns virtually to raise funds for Hospice in 2020!

Tour de Jersey is back for 2020, and this year it is bigger, better and virtual! Taking inspiration from the Tour de France, the Tour de Jersey has for years been a much loved regular fixture in the Jersey cycling calendar, returning again this year to raise money for Jersey Hospice Care.

Sponsored by Ravenscroft, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore Jersey by bike while also raising funds for Hospice and all those who need our specialist care. This year, while restrictions are still in place due to COVID-19, we are running Tour de Jersey as a virtual event throughout the month of August giving participants more time to complete one or more of the stages or, for the more ambitious, the whole 100km route in one go.

The event is generously sponsored by Ravenscroft. Haydn Taylor, Managing Director of Ravenscroft in Jersey, said, “This year’s Tour de Jersey offers islanders the perfect chance to get out and explore our beautiful island while supporting a charity, which is at the heart of the local community. As Ravenscroft’s business grows so does our support of the local charities, events and voluntary organisations and we’re looking forward to taking part in this year’s Tour de Jersey.”

The Tour de Jersey route has been designed Ian Williams, owner of the bike shop Cog and Sprocket and a long term supporter of Hospice. He has designed and developed the main 100km route as well as breaking it into nine shorter stages that range from beginner and family friendly options to gradually more challenging routes which can be completed either as standalone challenges or as a staged course throughout the month. It’s a great event for cyclists of all abilities this summer.

Ian Williams, said, “As a keen cyclist it has been a real pleasure to develop the Tour de Jersey routes for Hospice that are suitable for riders of all ages and abilities. Everyone knows someone who’s been supported by Hospice and that’s what this is all about. I really hope that even more people will take on the challenge this year and enjoy exploring the Island while raising money for such an important charity that is there for everyone when they need support the most”.

As well as the amazing sense of achievement for completing the Tour de Jersey, event sponsors Ravenscroft are also providing two fantastic prizes for the best Tour de Jersey photo posted on social media tagging Ravenscroft and Jersey Hospice Care with the hashtag #TourdeJersey2020.

Participants can undertake the Tour de Jersey throughout August and are invited to choose to cycle any of the routes singularly, all of the routes as stages throughout the month, or take on the ultimate 100 km route. To sign up and for more details visit:
