Live & Learn
A weekly drop in community service helping us to reach more people
We are delighted to introduce our community service, called Live & Learn; an initiative aimed at reaching more islanders who could benefit from our expertise and care.
The weekly drop in service benefits anyone affected by a life limiting condition, including families, carers and the bereaved. It is aimed in particular at people who are struggling to adjust to the changes and limitations imposed by their illness and the impact it has on their everyday life.
The drop in sessions are open every Thursday, in the King Centre at Jersey Hospice Care, with morning and afternoon sessions. Anyone can drop in throughout the day for advice and support. It provides an opportunity to meet people in a similar circumstance and gain informal support from healthcare professionals, .
Each Thursday morning, we will have semi structured, informal education sessions. These are supported by professionals from Jersey Hospice Care and Health and Social Services, who provide information and expert advice on topics including nutrition, emotional well-being, practical information and managing symptoms. We regularly welcome up to 20 people who pop in for a chat, go along to the organised sessions, hear from inspirational guest speakers or join the relaxation classes, arts and crafts or new book club.
There is no need for a referral from a health professional or to book your place to attend Live & Learn. You can drop in throughout the day for advice and support.
