More swimmers than ever are getting their Vitamin Sea!
Record numbers have joined in the summer fundraiser, 30 Bays in 30 Days, with over 480 people getting their Vitamin Sea throughout the month.
All the swimmers are invited to meet for a Celebration Swim, on Wednesday 31 July at St Brelade’s Bay. Organisers will be on hand from 17:30, to accept any donations or sponsorship, before the klaxon sounds at 18:00 to signal the start of the celebratory dip
Many swimmers have been sharing their stories on social media, using the #30Baysin30DaysJersey. One of our swimmers, David, sums up why he loves the challenge so much. He said, ‘It has been the catalyst for the family to meet up so much more and to go out at the end of the working day. Getting out into the fresh air not only allows us to enjoy the huge variety of beautiful bays the Island has to offer but it is also a really social occasion.
‘Our enthusiasm for this event is rubbing off and we have friends who are already keen to sign up next year. On top of that it also raises much needed funds for two great causes.’
Charles Alluto, Chief Executive of the National Trust for Jersey, said ‘We are delighted with the amount of interest that has been shown in our 30 Bays in 30 Days challenge this year. Now in its fourth year we have seen registrations grow year on year; this just goes to show how popular the month long event has become.
‘All money raised will be divided between Jersey Hospice Care to support patient care, and The National Trust for Jersey and will help in the Trust’s pledge to permanently safeguard a further 1,000 vergees of unspoilt coastline. We encourage those of you who have not quite ticked off all your 30 Bays to continue during August – there’s no better way to enjoy summer than finding a beach that you have not been to or re-visiting your favourite one for a swim and cool off in the sea.’

The event is generously supported by Network Insurance & Financial Planning, The Potting Shed, Fuse 2 and Mitchell Building Contractors.
