Million Pound Lottery – who will be a millionaire?

One lucky ticket holder may become a millionaire on Friday, at Jersey Hospice Care’s Million Pound Lottery live draw at The Royal Yacht.

The lottery is our biggest fundraiser of the year and a total of £1.3 million in prize money will be given away, with £1 million as first prize, followed by prizes of £100,000, £75,000, £50,000, £25,000 and five prizes of £10,000.

Everyone is invited to come along to watch the draw. Doors open at Sirocco in The Royal Yacht at 17:00 and the draw for the first prize of one million pounds will be made during the special ITV Channel TV programme, which starts at 18:00. Within their programme will be two films about life ‘behind the scenes’ at Jersey Hospice Care.

‘The Million Pound Lottery Draw is my favourite event in our fundraising calendar’ said Jersey Hospice Care’s Chief Executive, Emelita Robbins. ‘Not only is it the biggest, it is also when we get to give back £1.3 million to the very people who have supported Hospice during the year. The sale of the Million Pound Lottery tickets raises £800,000, vital funds that are used to help keep all of the charity’s services free and available to anyone in Jersey with any life limiting condition. The evening is always great fun. After ITV Channel TV’s live coverage finishes, the evening is compered by Peter Mac. There is lots of entertainment and excitement and everyone is welcome to come along and be part of what will be a life changing night for some islanders.’

The winning ticket numbers will be drawn by:

Dick Richomme BEM | Dick is one of our many loyal and dedicated volunteers. He regularly looks after our many corporate gardeners, coordinates our Christmas Cards and this year has been overseeing the renovation of a property left to us as a legacy. Dick was also a regular volunteer for our Million Pound Lottery ticket sales.

Terri Atkinson | Terri has been organising the sell-out event, Stars in their Eyes, for Jersey Hospice Care for over 28 years. During that time, the event has raised over £164,000. Terri also helped us to sell Million Pound Lottery tickets.

Hannah Bechelet | Hannah has supported Jersey Hospice Care for many years, producing some of the Million Pound Lottery films for ITV Channel TV, most memorably ‘Mary’s Story’. Hannah has also volunteered for the charity, helping at events and regularly baking cakes.

Lisa Pugsley | Lisa bid for the chance to be a ball drawer at last year’s Jersey Christmas Appeal Auction.

The results will be published on our social media pages (facebook.com/JerseyHospiceCare and twitter.com/JerseyHospice) and our website.
