Thank you

A huge thank you to all the organisations who, through their support and fundraising efforts, help us to provide all our services for free.

Here are some of their stories.

Aztec

Aztec Group have sponsored our Christmas Tree recycling initiative since 2014 after Joanna Hewlett, the Group’s Head of Human Resources and a loyal Christmas tree collection volunteer, suggested the Group’s involvement.

Joanna commented: ‘The scheme is a great way to pull the community together in a considerable fundraising effort, and Aztec Group’s support has been invaluable to the way in which it has developed over the years. All the funds go to a worthy cause and has the added benefit of helping the environment too.’

BNP Paribas

We have been extremely fortunate that BNP Paribas have chosen Jersey Hospice Care as their charity of the year for over seven years.

Their staff have raised thousands for us, through a variety of fundraising events and their give as you earn scheme. They also have regular Corporate team volunteering days with us, working in our gardens and Beau Pre shop at St Ouen and are frequently seen at the Dragon Boat Festival.

C5 Alliance and Switch Digital

Local technology firm, C5 Alliance has worked in collaboration with leading creative digital agency, Switch Digital to improve the performance of our website.

Switch Digital changed the hosting platform for the site, upgrading the standard and making it 7.9 times faster than the old site. The firm also sponsor the hosting and ongoing website maintenance and support as part of its community commitment.

C5 Alliance has also provided us with free Business Continuity (BC) services that will protect us in times of crisis. We will now benefit from having access to C5’s BC suites at Rue des Pres, which includes its full office infrastructure and work spaces for the charity’s administrative staff.

Channel Islands Co-operative

Channel Islands Co-operative kindly hosted our Dying Matters Awareness Week, allowing us to put a sofa in their Grande Marche store, so that our nurses and counsellors could chat to shoppers in comfort.

They have also supported our Planted with Love campaign by purchasing a flower in memory of Society colleagues, as well as for any islander whose funeral has been organised by De Gruchy’s Funeral Care, (which is part of the Society), between 17 July and 8 October, when the Planted with Love campaign ran.

Condor Ferries

Condor Ferries has sponsored our Dragon Boat Festival since it started in 1997. Since then, it’s raised over £650,000 for Jersey Hospice Care.

With no experience needed – just loads of enthusiasm – the festival has become a fantastic event for groups of friends and colleagues, where you can expect to enjoy a fun day out with a great carnival atmosphere.

The challenge is not so much the paddling technique, but in trying to synchronise with the other paddlers in your boat.

de Gruchy

As their charity of the year, de Gruchy hosted our Million Pound Lottery ticket sales and sponsored the early bird prize draw, giving away £1,000 in gift vouchers to one lucky winner who had bought their Million Pound Lottery ticket in the first four weeks of sales.

They have also run several fundraisers throughout the year, including an April Showers campaign and the Manx Loaghtan ram model, which collects charitable donations, to raise money for Jersey Hospice Care.

Ocorian

Ocorian are sponsoring this year’s Challenge to Costa Rica. Over 40 people will be cycling or trekking from coast to coast in the Caribbean Country.

Since the Challenge started in 2001 over 200 people have taken part, visiting Mexico, China, Vietnam and Tanzania amongst others. Many of our Challengers have participated more than once and, in doing so they have overcome fears, achieved personal goals and raised in excess of £1 million!

Voisins

Since 2016, over £20,000 has been raised for four local charities, including Jersey Hospice Care, through Pennies in Voisins.

This simple fundraiser is a great way to support four local charities when you shop in store using your card.

Pennies is the digital charity box. It gives your small change a big purpose – allowing you to donate a few pence to charity when you pay by card in shops, online and in apps. It’s your choice every time, with no pressure, and no follow up.
