Jersey Hospice Care is lucky to enjoy a great deal of corporate support throughout the year.
We are able to offer two corporate volunteering packages : as gardeners for the day and in our St Ouen charity shop. These packages are usually for between six and 12 people and we invite corporate help on a Tuesday or Thursday.
Be a gardener for the day
Our gardens are almost wholly maintained by volunteers and corporate supporters. Corporate volunteering teams are invited up to Jersey Hospice Care, Mont Cochon for the day (09.30 to 15.30) to help, under the watchful eye of Blair, our gardener.
Teams are advised to dress appropriately for the weather on the day. They will be given a short tour of Jersey Hospice Care and have a tea/coffee before getting started. Blair will then brief the team on the day’s work and give them the necessary tools etc. Refreshments are provided at about 11.15 and a sandwich lunch at about 13.00. There is also a coffee shop on site where you can buy light refreshments, such as chocolate, crisps and drinks.
Volunteering in our St Ouen fundraising shop
We also provide volunteering days in our St Ouen’s fundraising shop. Teams are asked to help in a variety of tasks when the shop is closed, which include sorting, tidying and re-arranging the stock. The shop is very large and busy, so we are incredibly grateful for any help we receive.
Teams need to dress appropriately, as it can be quite cold. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available all day, but as there are no facilities for lunch, teams will need to bring a packed lunch or go out for lunch.
