The first walk was organised by Doreen Hennessy in 1998 to raise money for an MRI scanner for the General Hospital. It was such a success that it became an annual event and Jersey Hospice Care was chosen as the charity to benefit thereafter. Since then, the walk has raised over £217,500 for Hospice.
We’d like to encourage as many people as possible to join us who have taken part over the last 20 years, as well as welcome new walkers.
This family friendly walk starts at the first layby by West Park and goes to St Brelade’s Parish Hall and back. There will be refreshments at the half way point. Grateful thanks to Run for Cover, who will be entertaining everyone.
If you cannot join us, but would like to mark the occasion of the 20th anniversary, you might like to make a donation. Please include ‘Good Friday Walk’ in the Donation Information field so that your support can be put towards the amount the event raises.
Walkers can park in the first layby (nearest to the Grand Hotel).
Please register at West Park (first layby) before 09.00, before setting off on this leisurely walk.
Please note that we may use photographs or videos taken at the Walk for present or future promotion and marketing.
There is no registration fee to take part in this walk. We therefore encourage all participants to raise at least £20 for Jersey Hospice Care, to mark this milestone year. To help you, you may want to use this sponsorship form.
