In 2018, we took part in Children’s Hospice Week for the first time, as we started to care for children and young people with a life limiting condition.
We will be taking part in 2019 – watch this space to find out what we’ve got planned.
Children’s Hospice Week is the only week in the year dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the 49,000 children across the UK living with life-limiting conditions, and the lifeline services that support them. At Jersey Hospice Care, we started our journey to care for children and young people in 2017, following our announcement that we are extending our services to care for people in Jersey with any life limiting condition, irrespective of diagnosis and age. We are excited to be joining the campaign for the second time.
Last year, Children’s Hospice Week gained the royal seal of approval, with a personal letter from HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, patron of East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH).
In 2018, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge sent a personal message to celebrate Children’s Hospice Week.
The Duchess, as Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), has seen first-hand the lifeline support that children’s hospices and palliative care services like EACH provides for children and families – helping them to make the most of moments that matter.
The Duchess is asking everyone to join her this Children’s Hospice Week, to celebrate the extraordinary children’s hospices and palliative care services that are there for seriously ill children and young people, and to help spread joy and positivity across the UK by encouraging everyone to make the most of moments that matter.
