About the event
A careers talk for students in Years 11 to 13 interested in going into nursing, medicine and Allied Health Professions
We’re delighted to be offering an afternoon at Jersey Hospice Care, for students in Years 11 to 13 who are interested in going into nursing, medicine and Allied Health Professions, such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers, with a particular interest in palliative care.
This afternoon will give students the opportunity to meet some of our staff, learn about their journey to becoming a healthcare professional, as well as the opportunity to learn more about Jersey Hospice Care. The afternoon will be workshop based and will be relatively informal and interactive, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. You will also learn about opportunities to volunteer within both our clinical and non-clinical services, a first step in gaining valuable experience within a healthcare setting.
Included in the afternoon will be :
- Welcome to Hospice
- An overview of Jersey Hospice Care
- The journey to becoming a healthcare professional, in whichever field you are interested in
- A tour of Jersey Hospice Care
- Why we need to see patients as people : #hellomynameis
