Jersey Hospice Care are seeking to appoint a full time Staff Grade Doctor, to assist in the provision of specialist palliative care services, at Jersey Hospice Care and Jersey General Hospital. The post holder will need to be passionate about palliative care and the services and care provided by Jersey Hospice Care.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, demonstrate a high standard of care and offer a non-judgemental approach to patients and colleagues. The successful candidate will apply their expert knowledge and skills to identify, assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients’ needs whilst monitoring and improving standards of care.
Working as an independent practitioner they will hold a medical degree, current GMC registration and a licence to practice. Significant post registration experience and proven relevant postgraduate training within a speciality programme is essential. Palliative care experience is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
They will be required to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (with 10 programmed activities per week), and cover weekends, Saturdays and Sundays (9.00am to 5.00pm) on a Rota basis. Flexibility to meet the needs of our patients and the role is required.
