Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Senior Nurse (Band 6) to join our In Patient Unit (IPU) on an interim, fixed-term contract.
The postholder will be based at Jersey Hospice Care and will work collaboratively to ensure an integrated approach to the delivery and development of palliative care services across the IPU.
The postholder will work with the Director of Palliative Care Services and other members of the Senior Clinical Management Team to provide effective leadership to all clinical and administration staff across the IPU. They will have expert knowledge to ensure specialist palliative care is delivered in line with individual needs, providing expert clinical advice whilst demonstrating a high degree of personal and professional autonomy. The post holder will be responsible for the safe management and security of the IPU, improving patient experience, and safeguarding high standards of care by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish.
The ideal candidate will be a Registered General Nurse with current registration on part 1 of the NMC register. They will have a degree in Health and Social Care and a qualification in palliative care; eg. European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care. Advanced communication skills and management/leadership training is essential.
