Wedding anniversary celebrations raise valuable funds for Hospice

Jersey Hospice Care is grateful to receive over £50,000 through multiple donations at a music festival last month.
Nick and Katie Stammers have been supporters of Jersey Hospice Care since they relocated to the island seven years ago and were delighted to name Hospice as their charity of choice as they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.
Family and friends joined them for a long weekend of celebrations at Dielament Manor in Trinity and were invited to make a donation in aid of the care available to islanders by Hospice. Celebrations were organised with the help of Claire Bouchet from The Box and brought together many of the island's entertainment and hospitality businesses.
Nick and Katie Stammers, said: “We feel very fortunate to have moved to this lovely island and while celebrating our anniversary with our friends and family, we also wanted to give back to the local community. With help from dozens of local businesses, from caterers and performers to hotels and salons, the event was more than we could have hoped for, and we are very grateful to everyone who made a generous donation to Hospice to top it off.”
Hospice currently care for approximately 1,000 patients a year – providing holistic, personalised care to people with a life-limiting illness, and supporting the people close to them. The funds raised will support the charity as they work to recover from the impact of the pandemic and continue to provide this essential service to islanders.
Mike Palfreman, CEO at Jersey Hospice Care, said: “It is always fantastic to work with supporters who have chosen to fundraise in aid of Hospice, and we are very grateful to Nick and Katie for their continued support. We were also delighted that our fundraising shops were able to be a part of the event, where they joined many stall holders over the weekend and raised some further valuable funds. Thank you again to everyone who donated as part of their celebrations with Nick and Katie.”
