74 year old Tony was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2001. "I was admitted to the A&E department of Jersey’s General Hospital after I’d woken up in the middle of the night with a nose bleed following radiotheraphy treatment in Southampton."

Mario cared for his wife who was also a Day Hospice patient for three years. "I was very impressed with Jersey Hospice Care. Gina was in a lot of pain but she was as peaceful as could be. I didn’t know what to expect when I first went to Clarkson House; like many, I imagined it to just be a place where people go to die but it is completely different."

Kate, had been visiting Day Hospice for the past two and a half years. When she found a pea-sized lump in her breast 20 years ago at the age of 41, she was given 4-6 months to live. She shared her story with us, before passing away in December 2009.
