A record number of Christmas trees have been recycled in 2013 with a record number of donations received in return!
Around 1,800 Christmas trees were collected from homes and businesses around the island and taken to the green waste site at La Collette for recycling.
It was the seventh year of the charity collection scheme and islanders gave very generously with the average donation being £14.68 per tree, raising £26,000 in total - £1,500 more than last year.
Thanks go to Digimap Jersey, Brewin Dolphin, Webreality, the businesses and individuals who donated their vans for collections and all the volunteers who helped out. Many of the volunteers who took part were raising funds for their Bedell China trek and cycle challenges which take place this September.
Thank you to all of you who gave us your Christmas trees too, we couldn't have done it without you and see you next year!
