The Kayak is a prowler 13 made by Ocean Kayak. Although it's not the fastest of Kayaks it is stable.
The Kayak is equipped with a GPS (Global Positioning System) - A VHF handheld radio and flares will also accompany me on the trip. Also, Darren has access to 2 backup boats which would be able to assist within 15 minutes should he require them on route.
With the tidal run as it is on the day he is hoping to cruise at around 2.5 mph (Minus wind conditions) and expect the trip to take 6 to 7 hours.
