Walking the island

In August this year Suzanne, Steve and Jon from the UK came over for a weekend to walk 48 miles around the island in memory of Suzanne’s father. She said: ’It was a weekend of kind weather; warm, light breeze with occasional sunshine – almost perfect for the event.

On the first day we completed the North coast of the island.  Spectacular scenery and strategic stops for tea, crab sandwiches and cake at Mad Mary’s helped eat up the miles! The second day was very different as we walked the southern beaches and by then we were feeling the distance! We still strode-on however and proudly completed the walk on what would have been Dad’s 71st birthday.

Thanks to everybody’s support we raised almost £2,000, which is tremendous to help support the fantastic team of staff at Jersey Hospice Care’.
